I'm not supporting Adobe and their down-right shitty "integration". I had a great deal of fun the learning and working with the suite, but this last integration is the straw that broke my proverbial back. I'm only writing this to vent and say a last goodbye to the Substance community and software. But simply because they are now associated with the spawn of Satan that is Adobe is reason enough for people to migrate. They brought great tools and innovations to the 3D space. I'm not saying the team working on the Substance suite of tools are bad, far from it. The news just broke out and I can't wait to see the flood of migration to Quixel suites. Yes it is, but continue to alienate your customer-base and your competitor will only grow in size. "Substance is the industry standard" I hear you say. In another senario, not allowing their users to opt-out of subscription and buy a perpetual license when they tallied a certain amount on their account, but I digress. And in this instance raising the price for the "basic" package. Packaging and locking them behind subscription models that are down right predatory. We've seen and heard time and again the negative ramification of the "Adobification" of softwares. The complete absorption of the Substance brand in Adobe is simply a spit in the face to their legacy users and those who despise Adobe for their customer-unfriendly practices. Since then, I've been happily paying my monthly, but today's announcement changed it. I actually saw that as a good thing, more money and more man-power to develop a greater and better tool to compete against Quixel. A couple of years back when Substance was bought by Adobe, I thought nothing of it. I was impressed by the capabilities of the software back in the day and still am to this day.
